Healthy Lunches

Most people recognise the importance of a healthy lunch break in maintaining health and creating a work/life balance. We’ve discovered that – while 30% of employees take a lunch to work, usually with some healthy options – 30% of employees don’t take lunch breaks at all.

From our survey, it appears as though stress in the workplace is still a contributing factor to this behaviour. Almost 15% of employees skip meals, to deal with stressful situations caused by their workload, and 25% of our respondents said that their whole lunch depended on whether or not they had time to take a break.

Healthy eating

A nutritious, balanced meal in the middle of the day plays a vital role in helping us stay fit and healthy. Almost half the employees we spoke to said that there was no food available in their workplace, but still acknowledged the importance of having a healthy meal in the middle of the day.

For the best possible working environment, employers and employees need to concentrate on building up a culture of healthy eating and taking lunch breaks during the working day, every day.
