What is Aviva Signature contents insurance?

Contents insurance gives you protection for your belongings when they’re in your home or garden. It covers items like your TV, office equipment and garden tools if they’re damaged, destroyed or lost from things like a fire, theft or flooding. With Aviva Signature contents insurance, we also cover everything from money and valuables to the food in your freezer. Plus, you can tweak your policy and add on extra protection for things like accidental damage and bicycle cover if you need to.

The benefits of our Aviva Signature contents insurance

Contents insurance only covers your belongings – it doesn’t give you protection for the building itself. If you need building insurance, you can get the complete package with Aviva Signature home insurance.

Who needs contents insurance?

You might want to take out contents insurance if you are a homeowner, along with buildings insurance. It offers you protection for valuables like jewellery, watches, art and collectable items like stamps and coins. The exact items covered are personal to you and are covered in full in your policy documents. If you have a single item that’s worth more than £2,500, you’ll need to tell us about it so it’s noted on your policy.

And if you’re renting, we offer contents insurance for tenants. Or if you’re a landlord, our home insurance for landlords helps cover your rental properties.

Get a quote in minutes

You could get a quote for Aviva Signature contents insurance in less time than it takes to finish your cup of tea. We’ve also put together a checklist to make it even easier.

To help us tot up your price accurately, we’ll ask you for some information:

  1. About you – just the usual like your name, date of birth, and if you’ve made any home insurance claims in the last five years.
  2. About your home – things like your postcode, whether you own your home, and if you live there all the time.
  3. About your policy – pick how much you’d be prepared to pay towards the cost of a claim (known as an excess) and any optional add-ons you want.

We’ve simplified things by making some assumptions – like that you have less than five bedrooms, and that flood waters have never washed through your home before. You’ll see these assumptions as you complete your quote. Please check them carefully and tell us if they don’t apply.
