Home contents insurance covers the value of all the belongings in your home. The possessions you would normally take with you when you move house while buildings insurance covers the structure of your home and outbuildings.

Good to review

Aviva customer service is so good but when they refer their customers to other companies to sort out the Claim very poor and aviva don't chase after refer.

AVIVA HOME AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

I have had a wonderful experience in buying On-Line my Home Contents and Annual Travel Insurance from Aviva recently. In the past Aviva has provided me with the cover as a Combined Contents and Travel Insurance Policy but this time I tried buying my cover On-Line and I am very pleased with my purchase and keeping my outlay under control.

Some initial "who-does-what" confusion

Things got off to a bad start, when First Call told us that they would handle everything to do with the claim. However, Aviva assured us that this was not the case("First Call shouldn't have said that"), and that First Call would only replace damaged carpets. One had the impression that the right hand didn't know what the left was doing. One repair had to be redone and on one occasion a tradesman didn't turn up, but payment for replacement furnishings was made promptly and we got there in the end.
