Test: Genetic Counselling

Genetic counselling can help people to plan their families if there is a history of an inherited disease. Counsellors use the most up-to-date information and test results to estimate the chance that a given single gene disorder will recur in the same family. They may discuss the options available for reducing the risk of a child being born with the particular disorder.

Counselling session

The counsellor discusses the possibility that you will develop a particular inherited disease or pass it on to any children you may have.
