How does MyHealthCounts work?

MyHealthCounts will help you find out more about your health. It highlights areas you could improve, and gives you advice on how to achieve those goals. It’s optional, it’s free, and we’ve made sure MyHealthCounts is easy to use. A simple online health assessment will get you started with what we call your personal Q Score

What is a Q Score?

The Q Score has been devised by medical experts to monitor adult health, using exhaustive studies.

Imagine yourself standing in a queue of one hundred people who are all the same age, gender and race as you, the MyHealthCounts online health assessment will give you a Q Score – based on lifestyle and personal health information – which will show where you are in the queue.

Your Q Score is based on the lifestyle and personal health information you input. For example we will ask for health information such as your height, weight, cholesterol level, blood glucose as well as lifestyle information such as whether or not you smoke and how often you exercise. The more accurate the information you input, the more accurate your Q Score will be. If you don’t know your true health measurements you can find out what they are by booking a MyHealthCounts pharmacy health check.

Q. Do I have to take part in MyHealthCounts?
A. No, it’s entirely optional. Of course we hope you will give it a try as we are very excited to be able to offer you a medically approved way to understand more about your health, and it’s completely free too. Once you’ve signed up and got your Q Score it’s entirely up to you whether you choose to do your own thing, or follow our health coach’s advice.
Q. If I make a claim will I still get my MyHealthCounts discount?
A. Yes, MyHealthCounts is completely separate from the No Claim Discount. So if anyone covered on your policy makes a claim your policy will drop down the NCD scale at renewal – unless you have protected your NCD. However, you could still earn a MyHealthCounts discount which could help to reduce your premium.
Q. Will the medical information provided by you be used to assess my claim?
A. No, we will not use your data to assess any claim you are currently making, or may make in the future.
Q. How will you use the data I provide?
A. We will only use your MyHealthCounts data to calculate your discount. We will not use your data to underwrite your policy.
