How we feel about our finances affects our wellbeing, we call this financial wellbeing
As money comes and goes through life, how your employees feel about their finances will change. And they might not always be prepared for what’s around the corner.
If they’re feeling anxious about their finances, it can affect their financial wellbeing. And that can impact how they’re feeling at work. That means it affects you, as their employer.
In fact, when we surveyed employers and employees across the UK for our 2024 Working Lives Report, we found clear links between employee wellbeing and finances.
73% of employees we surveyed said the cost-of-living crisis has made them feel more anxious about their finances
Three-quarters of employees want more support and guidance from their employer about planning for a financially comfortable retirement
63% of employees said their employers don’t provide tailored support, which would help improve their financial wellbeing
