The main contributor to work related road traffic incidents is the behaviour of the individual driver. Therefore, understanding driver behaviour and influencing how drivers behave on the road, is the most effective way of reducing the risk of crash involvement for your workforce.
DriverMetrics® was established at Cranfield University in 2005 to make scientific research into employee driver safety more widely available.
The behaviour-based driver safety programme comprises of three steps.

Identify risk using the Driver Risk Index™ and focus on the specific contributing behavioural and situational factors using a scientifically validated assessment.
- Review the data
Manage, monitor and report on your driver safety programme with their Management Information System.
- Take Action
Improve safety with a range of interventions tailored to the DriverMetrics® results or upskill your own trainers to deliver driver coaching.
