How our calculator works
Firstly, it’s important to know that it’s a guide, not a guarantee. We’ve done our homework and checked average funeral prices across the UK to give you an idea of the costs involved. We’ll look at factors such as your location, the kind of service you want and any extras you choose to include. What you’ll get back is an estimate to help you kick off your funeral financial planning.
And with funeral fees increasing with inflation, our calculator will also work out how much the same service may cost in ten years’ time.
A funeral that costs £4200 today could cost around £5,327 in 10 years’ time, assuming an increase of 2% per year
If things were to increase by more than 2%, the increase in price would be greater.
For example, a funeral that cost £4,200 in 2024, in ten years time could cost:
£5,988
if the inflation rate was 3%
£6,724
if the inflation rate was 4%
£7,542
if the inflation rate was 5%
How this is calculated
Based on our 2024 research into funeral costs , we’ve worked the average costs of cremations , burials and additional services by region. Calculations assume an increase in line with the government targeted inflation rate which is 2%.
