Van Insurance

Cover for your business or personal van

Sole trader Company Personal

What is van insurance?

Just like other motor insurance, our van insurance can cover you and your vehicle against the cost of accidents and damage. From carrying your kit when you hit the road for an adventure to loading it with tools to go to work every day. It doesn’t matter if you use your van for business or pleasure. With our different options and add-ons, you can tailor your cover to suit you and your four wheels (or three!).

Tool cover

If someone uses a crowbar to crack open your door and pinch your tools, we’ll be there with a fix. Get up to £500 to replace them if you’ve got comprehensive cover with us 1

Repair guarantee

Following a claim, we’ll guarantee the quality of any repairs made by our approved repairers for as long as you insure your van with us 2

Glass replacement

If your van’s windscreen or windows shatter we can help pick up the pieces by sorting out a repair or replacement

Types of vans covered

We can cover vans under 3.5T GVW, including box vans, light vans and pick-ups. We’ve even got insurance for your ice cream van licked. When you get a quote, we’ll ask you to pick your particular type of van to see what we can offer.

Are you looking for business or personal van insurance?

We’ve got different options to pick from depending on what you use your van for.

Business vehicle and van insurance

You’ll need our Business Vehicle and Van Insurance if you use your van for any kind of work reasons, like driving to and from a job site or using it to help run your small business.

The van can be registered in your company's name or, if you’re a sole trader, registered in your own name.

Personal van insurance

Maybe you’re a keen gardener and your van is piled with pots or you’re an enthusiastic drummer on the weekend and need plenty of space to carry your stuff.

If you only drive your van for social use (and not as part of a small business or your working life), our personal van insurance could be what you need.

How our claims process works

Whatever happens, we’re here when you need us – online and over the phone.

Step 1

Let us know

If you’ve had an accident, call us straightaway on 0345 030 8870 ^.

Or log in to MyAviva to make a claim online (if you're registered).

You'll need your policy number to start your claim – so it's a good idea to have this to hand.

Step 2

Expert review

We'll take a look at your claim and work out how best to help you.

We’ll review any photos or documents you’ve sent us as part of your claim and ask you for details of anyone else involved.

Step 3

We’ll respond quickly

We'll get back to you as soon as we can to sort things out.

Depending on your cover, we'll organise repairs to get you back on the road. Or work with you to settle your claim if your vehicle can't be fixed.

We’ve got a range of options to help protect what’s important to you.
