How we assess your need for long-term care
We define long-term care as a situation in which you need permanent help from another person, or other people, to perform two or more activities of daily living or because you're suffering from dementia.
If you permanently leave your home or choose to repay your lifetime mortgage because you need long term care, we’ll assess your situation to see if any early repayment charges apply.
Rest assured, you will never have to leave your home just because you need care. If you can arrange for long term care to be provided at home, you may not need to move out or repay your lifetime mortgage. Your lifetime mortgage will only need to be repaid if you move into permanent care outside your home, or after you pass away.
For full details, please check your terms and conditions or speak with your financial adviser.
