How does Level Life Insurance work?

A Level Life Insurance plan gives you an amount of cover that stays the same throughout the plan. If you die within the plan term, your loved ones will receive a guaranteed lump sum of money.

Your choice of cover

You could get any amount of life cover up to £500,000, depending on factors such as your age when you take out the plan. You can choose how long you want the cover to last. Many people choose to have their cover for a period that coincides with when they expect their mortgage to be paid off or when they expect their children to become financially independent.

Premiums that are affordable and guaranteed

With premiums from only £5 a month, protecting your loved ones could cost less than you think — although the actual cost depends on the amount and length of cover chosen, as well as your personal circumstances. And we guarantee that your monthly premiums will stay the same for the duration of the plan.

Cover that includes extra benefits

With Aviva you get Terminal Illness Benefit included in the cover. This means we pay you the sum insured if you’re diagnosed with a terminal illness within the plan term and are not expected to live for more than 12 months. If we pay out after a terminal illness claim, your plan will end.

Critical illness cover is not available with Level Life Insurance; however you can choose to take out an alternative plan offered by Aviva, which combines life cover with critical illness cover.

Terminal Illness is not the same as Critical Illness Cover. Critical illness cover pays out a lump sum if you are diagnosed with a critical illness that meets our policy definition and then survive for at least 14 days. We only cover the critical illnesses we define in our policy and no others.

For lots of us, life insurance is an important way of helping protect the things we love and value. So before you give us a call to discuss it, just ask yourself 3 simple questions.

Question 1 – What do I need to protect?

You may have a partner, or children, a mortgage, or other outstanding loans, or a combination of all of these.

Question 2 – How much cover do I need?

If you have a mortgage how much is outstanding? And if you weren’t there to provide for your family, how much would they need to maintain their lifestyle? Take into account your income and outgoings, such as your mortgage and utility bills, childcare costs and perhaps the odd holiday. You’ll be surprised how it all adds up.

And finally question 3 – How long do I need life cover for?

Think about how long is left on your mortgage, how long your children will be financially dependent on you, and how old your partner will be when they are likely to retire.

That’s it, all pretty simple stuff

What do I need to protect?

How much life cover do I need?

And how long do I need it for?

And now you’re ready to get a quote, which is easy too.

Easy to order online

Wanted to organise some life insurance in case something happens! Wanted my husband to be able to have cash to be with my kids. This policy was simple, decent payment, for a decent payout. It was good because I completed online questionnaire and 25 mins later I had my policy, and hopefully I will live for another 40 years, but my family are covered just in case!

I would recommend Aviva to a friend

Easy to purchase but...

Not the cheapest insurance on the market but it's a 5 star company and it was relatively easy and fast to finalise. The fact I was disappointed about is that my wife is pregnant and her quote went up by £5 once she put that her pregnancy was kind of complicated. Nothing to worry about according to the doctors but if you call Aviva to explain you can't claim the bonus they are promising. I felt like she has been discriminated and I wished I didn't make my cover with them. At the end there are other companies better value for money and who you can talk to before the purchase without missing out on a gift.

Hi there I'm so sorry to hear about the price increase on your wife's policy. I appreciate how you must be frustrated by this, especially if the doctors advised she would be absolutely fine. I'm afraid there's unlikely to be anything we can do to change this; however I've passed your review onto our Life insurance team and asked them to contact you to discuss this further and to provide clarification as to why this has happened. I hope this helps and thanks for leaving your review, we appreciate you letting us know how we are doing.

Kind Regards, Stephanie
