Customer reviews consist of an overall rating out of five and provide feedback on the experience of buying a policy and making a claim with us. Customers also have the option to provide a rating out of five on additional aspects of their experience. After buying a policy, customers are able rate us on value for money, ease of purchase, policy features and benefits and customer experience. After making a claim, customers are invited to rate us on ease of claim process, speed of resolution, fairness and customer experience.

Beyond Disappointing, wont be using Aviva again!

I had the ordeal of dealing with rude staff in the claims line. They really need training on Customer Service, as they are clueless as to what this means. My claim was delayed, the staff at my choosen bodyshop, thankfully helped out by making many phonecalls to Aviva inorder to seek the go ahead to start work on my car. There was one issue after the other, including the staff at the body shop being given a number to Aviva staff, which when he attempted to phone, was dead. I only know this, as I was onhold at the time and the call was put on speaker. Furthermore, once I was able to collect my car (approx 4 weeks later). Staff at the bodyshop remarked my excess appeared rather high. After I checked the figure, Aviva decided a £200.00 markup was deemed required. By this point I was fuming. Yet again, ANOTHER phone call was required to establish the actual amount I needed to pay for my excess, guess what I was correct and Aviva screwed up...AGAIN! Total nightmare!Myadvice.Go elsewhere!

Claim review

Aviva excellent, recommended repairer not so good

Aviva handled my claim quickly, even on a weekend. Sorted hire car and arranged for car to be repaired. Majority of repair was good, but little things that shouldn't have been left were, plus damage on the car that wasn't there when it was collected. No problem with Aviva, would ask for a different repairer next time (hopefully won't be needed)

Buyer review

Great value, with strange clauses

The main reason I bought a multi-car policy with Aviva is solely based on price. They managed to half the renewal my previous insurer was giving me. Great news so far, right? When delving deeper in the T&Cs of the cover, I was told that I would have to pay an additional excess if I was to get the car repaired at non-approved repairer. If I was to get a the car repaired at anywhere else than a BMW repairer, it would invalidate my manufacturers' warranty. As both our cars are new, I checked if our BMW dealership is an approved repairer. 'No sir, your Sytner BMW dealership isn't an approved repairer' I was told. So I asked them about what I would do as it would invalidate my warranty with BMW, I was told I would have to pay an additional excess of a few hundred pounds. Let's hope I don't need a repair this year!

Responsive service

Easy to use the telephone application service. After agreeing the car insurance I found I had forgotten to tell Aviva something about my medical history. When I phoned Aviva to inform them about this, they couldn't have been more helpful. I would highly recommend their service - so far!
