Customer reviews consist of an overall rating out of five and provide feedback on the experience of buying a policy and making a claim with us. Customers also have the option to provide a rating out of five on additional aspects of their experience. After buying a policy, customers are able rate us on value for money, ease of purchase, policy features and benefits and customer experience. After making a claim, customers are invited to rate us on ease of claim process, speed of resolution, fairness and customer experience.

Good customer service

Motor insurance when we changed our car. Nice to have a written policy sent to us instead of just an online one.

The NCD requirement is unclear, feedback slow and customer service is not helpful

I am a new immigrant to the UK and don't have NCD here, I heard from my friend Aviva that has accepted the NCD from my place (HK), I have checked carefully about my NCD and sure it was complying with your request, then I bought the insurance online and paid. Later I submitted the NCD and everything looked fine. A few days later I received an email from your NCDteam and asked me to discuss with your customer service the details about the NCD. Then I called your customer service and heard I needed to submit a cancellation of my last car (in HK)insurance policy but I told your staff that the car has been sold and so the insurance was not valid anymore. Surprisingly your staff said she could not decide and asked me to send some proof to NCDteam for acceptance. So your NCDteam asked me to discuss with your customer service, but your staff told me to check with NCDteam again. This kind of action is very bureaucratic and wasted of time, anyway, this case did not solve.....

Great customer service

I always ring around when my insurance is due ,and I must say that the two people I spoke to at Aviva were really friendly,well informed and keen to help me get a good deal.

Aviva

I bought car insurance from Aviva based on the fact that it is better to change insurance companies on a yearly basis as loyalty buys you nothing with insurance. If you change companies you seem to get a better deal as they are more interested in new business than looking after old customers.

Problems with No Claims Discount Team

Buying my car insurance was no problem and very simple until your No Claims Discount Team got involved. I had specified on the quotation 1 year longer than my previous insurer stated that I was entitled to. Your NCD team e-mailed me to request I telephone your Customer Services to "clarify certain aspects of the No Claims Discount proof". I duly rang the number offered and spoke with your customer services team member who couldn't help me as he didn't know what information was required. He couldn't transfer me as your NCD do not answer incoming telephone calls nor as it later proved will they make outgoing calls. Instead all communication must be done via e-mail. Despite e-mails between us I still didn't receive final confirmation of what I was asking them to confirm. I couldn't be bothered to fight for an extra year of No Claims as the period in question was 10 or 11 years. I think the service from your NCD was awful. Why can't they speak on the telephone? It's much more efficient.
