Purchased car insurance very easy and straightforward, however what for me is the main consideration for any insurance is how the company deals with a claim and in that respect I have no idea what Aviva is like and hopefully never will

Motor Claim?

My wife recently was stranded with a flat tyre, the cause of this being that she had to swerve into the kerb to avoid being hit by an oncoming van. She had the right of way. When Aviva was called for a recovery they described the incident as an accident and that it would affect her no claims! On hearing this we called the AA (as a member) they attended within 15 minutes and made a temporary repair so that the vehicle could travel to nearest tyre centre. Motto of this is that it is a waste of money to include “recovery” in the Aviva car insurance. I will be moving my multi vehicle insurance to another company when the next renewal is due!

I went to my parked vehicle to find that it had been damaged overnight by a bad reversal of a vehichle. The prepertator left no details. I was upset. I called Aviva. First, you can only claim if your glass is damaged. No. Then I am put through to the right no. I am phoning at 8.30 but no one is answering. Then an answer when I am told that I can’t be helped. That it’s all on me. I am reminded that I have £250 excess. Basically don’t bother calling us. So I once gain try to call on Saturday to be told that I need to call again on Monday by an automated system. The experience has left me with a damaged car and a very poor opion of the Aviva call centre. I was distressed on Thursday and yet this did not seem to temper the tone of the operative I spoke to. Your operation is set up so that people only use your bot. However it is useless. Humans need to have emotions when they answer the phone. If that is your job and it starts at 8.30 you need to be ready to answer it with humanity.

Rang for advice/ got a accident report.

Push bike ran into my door(3""scratch) rang for advice? ? Not to claim. I now have a accident report on my policy.AVIVA staff refused my request not to list it on my clean policy.Very upset.will never ask for advice again. I was told it will be a none fault report.But if I am asked in the future have I had a accident? I must answer YES.I think this is wrong.

I have been very happy with the total customer service package given by Aviva. Even though there were initial queries it was handled very well, and in resolving my no claims bonus issue the lady on the telephone provided a very good efficient service and was of great help in dealing with the previous car insurance company. She did very well.
