Good value & quick

Bought House Insurance. Very good value, never claimed before & don’t live in a mansion so got basic Insurance. Got extra discount from special offer. Website easy to navigate &speedy. Have & will recommend to others.

Efficient and sympathetic

I had to contact Aviva after my husband died recently to amend our home insurance. It was dealt with quickly and efficiently with the minimum of fuss. At a difficult time this was much appreciated.

Bit Of A Struggle But Got There

Renewed House & Contents Policy. Was quoted a large amount, but when I phoned the representative and said that Aviva was quoting much less than half that on my PC screen the amount immediately dropped massively to the amount quoted on the screen. I shouldn't have had to waste my time doing this - Aviva should have given me the genuine, very much lower amount, at the outset. I paid the entire premium on renewing the policy, yet still received irritating emails inviting me to consider the revised quote, pay the premium etc. This will doubtless be put down to 'a computer problem'. There is, of course, no computer problem, but a mistake/omission by the person who wrote its programme. As I said in the title, it was a bit of struggle, but I got there. However, I shouldn't have had to dig out the proper, honest premium, because Aviva should have stated it at the start - If I'd not had a PC the cost would have been over double . The stream of unnecessary email was particularly irritating.

Contents insurance

Easy to apply for & arrange and at a good price. Had to contact customer services to clarify that assumptions as regards the building construction, I had not agreed to, were not relevant for contents only. Also had to have customer services manually associate the policy with an existing Myaviva account - both times they were however great to deal with.

Excellent customer service

I needed to change my address as your system was showing options as 111a and 111b. It should have been 111. I was worried that I would be charged extra, but staff amended it online very quickly without any charges. Aviva were also very competitive this year with my landlord insurance.

Product fine but communication a severe problem

Moved house and needed to cancel old policy and take out a new one. I have been assured that I have cover for my new house but a week later the policy is still not visible on my online account, although the old policy has disappeared. Hence I cannot check policy details or financials - or indeed add the Emergency cover I would like. Coronavirus problem has led to communication by email, phone or chat being virtually impossible
