You can't predict what will happen tomorrow. But you can be more prepared where your health's concerned. Aviva DigiCare+ offers a range of complementary health and wellbeing benefits provided by carefully selected partners (some optional benefits may incur a charge). It’s available to you when you take out an Aviva personal protection policy, excluding Simple Life Insurance, through a financial adviser.

Through the Aviva DigiCare+ app, provided by Square Health, you can request an annual Health Check to help detect problems early. You can also get expert advice to help you shape a healthier lifestyle, and quick access to healthcare professionals for more day-to-day issues around your physical and mental wellbeing. Simple to set up and easy to use, Aviva DigiCare+ could be a positive step towards a healthier future for you and your family.

What's included with the Aviva DigiCare+ app?

  • Annual Health Check
    An annual Health Check that gives you a health snapshot from the comfort of your own home. It tests for 20 different health markers, including liver, kidney and bone health, cholesterol, gout, proteins and diabetes risk
  • Nutrition support
    Provides access to a trained nutritionist who can advise on how to improve your eating habits as part of a healthier lifestyle. You can access up to six consultations a year shared between you, your partner and your children aged 12 to 18 (or 21 if in full-time education)
  • Bupa Anytime HealthLine
    If you have a health query about yourself or a loved one, a qualified nurse could give you the guidance you need. This unlimited telephone service is available anytime day or night, 365 days a year and covers not just you, but your partner and children over 16 too
  • Mental health support
    Quick access to tailored mental health advice for you and you family. This service provides up to six video or telephone psychotherapy sessions per year, with advice available for parents concerned about younger children and you'll be matched with a UK-based specialist that best meets your needs. Sessions can be shared between you, your partner and children aged 16 to 18 (or 21 if in full-time education). You can get an appointment on average within 2 working days, easily bookable via the app
  • Second opinion service
    This service offers, in most cases, a face-to-face consultations, but video or telephone consultations are also available. You'll be provided with support on a wide range of physical and mental health conditions. The specialist will give you an in-depth analysis of your diagnosis and treatment options, and will answer any questions about your diagnosis. You can use this service twice a year, and it covers you, your partner and children up to 18 (21 if still in full-time education)
  • Health and wellbeing discounts
    With access to over 3,000 health and fitness clubs across the UK, you can enjoy great savings on a variety of products and services to help to help you get active and stay healthy!
  • Bereavement support
    Practical and emotional help during those difficult times when a loved one passes away
  • Physiotherapy consultations
    Aimed at helping people of all ages to manage injuries and conditions and prevent them from worsening, our physiotherapists use movement, exercise, manual therapy and education to combat minor injuries to chronic musculoskeletal pain. This service can be used twice a year for separate conditions, with access to three face-to-face physiotherapy sessions per year, per condition. Only available to customers on Aviva Income Protection+ policies
  • Digital GP
    If you bought a personal protection policy after 7 December 2020, the digital GP service can give you speedy access to three video consultations with a private doctor per year. Just like your usual GP, they can issue private and repeat prescriptions, sick notes, consultant referrals and advice on current medication. For private prescriptions, a charge will be made by the pharmacist and will depend on the cost of the medicine. There is no charge for writing the prescription. Lasting up to 20 minutes per session, consultations can be shared between you, your partner and children up to the age of 18 (or 21 if in full-time education). Additional sessions are available at £55 per appointment.

Please note, when taking out an Aviva personal protection policy through an adviser, this should primarily be for the financial protection that policy provides and not for the benefits provided by Aviva DigiCare+.

How to access Aviva DigiCare+

It couldn't be simpler to get started. All you need to do is:

Download the app

Find and download the the Aviva DigiCare+ app from the App Store or Google Play. Mobile data charges may apply.

Step 2 of 3

Register your details

Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it and register for this service using your policy number or activation code, which is included within your invitation email. You can also register using your MyAviva account login details.

Step 3 of 3

Start using the services

As soon as you’ve completed your profile, you can order your annual Health Check and also make use of the other services and benefits available to you.

Health and lifestyle

Your annual Health Check

One of the first things you might want to do is order your annual Health Check. This self-administered fingerprick test can be taken in the comfort of your own home and includes full instructions and a pre-paid envelope for you to send your blood sample back in.

It checks 20 different health markers to spot problems early on and covers a wide list of issues, including the risk of diabetes, cholesterol status and liver health.

You'll receive a personalised health report and recommended course of action. If needed, you can book a consultation with a digital GP to discuss the results. The Health Check is only available to the policyholder.

Nutritional Consultations

Do you want to improve your eating habits? With Aviva DigiCare+ you, your spouse or your children (if they're aged between 12 and 18, or up to 21 if they're in full-time education) have access to six one-on-one consultations per year with a trained nutritionist.

The Nutritional Consultations can help you understand more about how nutrition affects your health and wellbeing. They can provide advice on eating plans, how to change your relationship with food and how to break bad habits.

Making healthy nutritional choices helps with achieving good physical fitness, which in turn can affect mental health. That’s why it makes sense to help establish a healthy relationship with food.

A little exercise can go a long way towards keeping fit and healthy. With access to over 3,000 health and fitness clubs across the UK, as well as a range of other products and services that can support a healthy lifestyle, you can enjoy great savings on a variety of ways to help you get active and stay healthy! Bupa Anytime HealthLine

Do you have a health query about yourself or a loved one? Whether it's an everyday health concern or something more serious, the chances are a qualified nurse can give you the guidance you need, rather than needing a GP or resorting to the internet.

With Aviva DigiCare+ you'll have access to this unlimited telephone service - the Bupa Anytime Health Line - it's available anytime day or night, 365 days a year and covers not just you, but your partner and children over 16 too - so advice is always at hand.

Digital GP

With the digital GP service you can access up to three video consultations with a private GP - great for those who struggle to find time to visit a GP surgery. Consultations can be shared between you, your partner and children up to the age of 18 (or 21 if in full-time education), and last up to 20 minutes. Available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. 

This service is available to you at no additional cost if you bought a personal protection policy through an Adviser (excluding Simple Life Insurance) after 7 December 2020.

Mental health

You’ll have access to up to six digital consultations with a qualified psychotherapist each year to be shared between you, your partner or your children aged 16 or over, until they're 18, or 21 if they’re in full-time education.

Square Health’s experienced therapists can help with a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, trauma and depression.

Second Medical Opinion

It’s never easy being diagnosed with a medical condition. You’ll naturally have questions and want to be sure the initial diagnosis is correct. So it might be reassuring to know that with Aviva DigiCare+ you can get a second medical opinion from a UK-based clinical specialist, covering all physical and mental health issues.

You can use this service twice a year, and it covers you, your partner and children up to the age of 18, or 21 if they’re in full-time education.

Physiotherapy

If you have an Aviva Income Protection+ policy, you can benefit from physiotherapy services to help manage injuries and conditions, and prevent them from getting worse.

Bereavement

Here are some ways you and your immediate family can get the support you need after the death of a loved one:

Bereavement counselling

Loss can take a long time and a lot of talking to process. You can access up to six telephone consultations within 12 months of a bereavement with a qualified counsellor. These can be shared between you, your partner and children aged 16 to 18 (or 21 if in full time education). Your partner and children can continue to use the service if you pass away during the policy term.

Estate administration

Support to guide the bereaved through the often complex process of valuing and distributing the estate, finalising tax and paying debts. Fixed-fee legal assistance for highly complex cases is also available.

Fast-tracked funeral payments

Provides an advance of the sum assured up to £11,000 per claim to help pay for the immediate primary costs associated with death.

We can pay the funds from a death claim directly to the funeral director and can consider an advance payment to cover the cost of applying for probate.
