You asked: What is State Earnings Related Pension (SERPS)?
The State Earnings Related Pension Scheme, commonly known as SERPS, was a UK government pension arrangement to which employers and employees contributed between 6 April 1978 and 5 April 2002. The amount of SERPS pension you received was based on your National Insurance contributions and how much you earned. It was replaced by the State Second Pension on 6 April 2002.
