You asked: What is an asset share?

An asset share is an assessment of a with-profits planholder's fair share of what the fund has earned, or lost, over the period of investment. It takes into account the premiums paid, the actual investment returns made by the fund and any appropriate deductions, such as those for expenses, guarantees and tax.
