Frequently Asked Questions

Ask us a question

You asked: What is an asset?

An asset is a type of investment. The different types of assets available include equities (company shares), gilts (loans to the UK Government), corporate bonds (loans to companies), property or cash and cash alternatives.

When you take out a with-profits investment, we invest your money into a broad range of different assets called the asset mix. We do this so that you're exposed to less risk - because all your eggs aren't in one basket.
