Cover for you and your vehicle

Our car insurance covers you against the cost of accidents and damage. You can choose from our comprehensive or third party, fire and theft insurance. We also cover electric and hybrid vehicles.

Uninsured driver promise

If your vehicle is involved in an accident caused by an uninsured motorist, we'll refund any excess you've paid. You’ll need to provide us with details of the other vehicle and driver.

Transport after an accident

If your car isn't safe to drive, we'll get you home, or to your destination and get your car to an approved repairer.Footnote [1]

Guarantee on repairs

Following a claim, we guarantee the quality of the repairs made by our approved repairers Footnote [2]

You can also add additional cars to your policy with our Multi Car cover as well as optional add-ons like protected no claim discount, breakdown cover and courtesy car.

Comprehensive Car Insurance

What’s covered

  • Loss or damage to your vehicle
    Cover if your vehicle is lost, stolen or damaged 
  • Your liability
    Cover if you injure someone or damage their vehicle or property in an accident 
  • Uninsured driver cover
    If your vehicle is involved in an accident caused by an uninsured motorist, we'll refund any excess you've paid. You’ll need to provide us with details of the other vehicle and driver
  • Vehicle recovery
    If you have an accident and your vehicle is not roadworthy we’ll take it to one of our approved garages
  • Driving other cars
    Cover for driving someone else’s car (if you’re aged 25 or over) Footnote [3]
  • Legal costs
    Cover for legal costs if you’re involved in an accident
  • Motor injury protection
    Cover for you, your partner and named drivers for death or serious injury after a motor accident 
  • Individual no claim discount
    Earn a no claim discount on each vehicle you insure 

What’s not covered

Unfortunately, we can’t cover everything – make sure you’re happy with what’s not covered, including:

  • Electrical breakdown
    Including problems with the on-board computers – as well as electrical components
  • Tyres
    Any punctures, cuts or bursts – including those caused by braking
  • Resale value
    We can’t cover you for any loss in value of your car after repair

Unfortunately, we can’t cover everything – make sure you’re happy with what’s not covered, including:

  • New vehicle replacement 
    Not included with this cover option
  • Medical expenses
    Any medical expenses if you’ve been injured in an accident
  • Personal belongings
    Loss or damage to any of your personal belongings
  • Replacement locks 
    Locks, transmitters and immobilisers if your keys are lost or stolen
  • Replacement glass
    Repair or replacement of glass

Let us know

Log in to MyAviva to make a claim online.

You'll need your policy number to start your claim – so it's a good idea to have this to hand.

If it is an emergency please call us anytime on 0345 030 6925 Footnote [6].

Step 2

Expert review

We'll take a look at your claim and work out how best to help you.

We’ll review any photos or documents you’ve sent us as part of your claim and ask you for details of anyone else involved. 

Step 3

We'll respond quickly

We'll get back to you as soon as we can to sort things out.

Depending on your cover, we'll organise repairs to get you back on the road. Or work with you to settle your claim if your vehicle can't be fixed.
