A free British Sign Language interpreter for your car and home insurance questions and claims, when our phonelines are open, using the SignLive app.

SignLive is a free online video interpreting service that connects you to a qualified British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter. As part of a pilot, we’ve teamed up with SignLive to give Aviva and AvivaPlus car and home customers what it takes to get in touch using BSL. If the pilot is successful, we hope to roll the service out to all our customers.

Your SignLive interpreter is the bridge between you and a member of the Aviva team so you can discuss your car or home insurance claim or customer service query. You can use this service if your policy number starts with letters, such as MMV or MHO. If your policy number starts with a 72, you have an Aviva Online or Aviva Premium policy and you can find all other ways to get in touch with us on our contact us page.

Hello. To help you communicate with us in a way that’s right for you, we’ve partnered with online British Sign Language interpreting service SignLive.

British Sign Language users who have an Aviva or AvivaPlus home or motor policy can use a free British Sign Language interpreter to speak with our claims and customer service teams.

Simply log in to SignLive, look Aviva up in the Community Directory, and hit call to connect. A certified British Sign Language interpreter will then support your conversation with a member of our team for free. You’ll find the links to the SignLive website and app on this page.

For British Sign Language users who’ve never tried SignLive before, you’ll need to complete a one-off registration the first time.

We’re kicking things off by giving motor and home customers the chance to use SignLive to ask a claim or customer service query.

You won’t be able to use it to contact us about anything else. Not just yet anyway. But we’ve got plans to change that. So, if you have any feedback, let us know.

Log in using Facebook, Google, or your email address. If you’re new to the service, you’ll need to register first.

Find Aviva

Discover Aviva under the Community Directory and tap ‘call’.

^ For our joint protection, telephone calls may be recorded and/or monitored and will be saved for a minimum of 5 years. Calls to 0800 numbers from UK landlines and mobiles are free. The cost of calls to 03 prefixed numbers are charged at national call rates (charges may vary dependent on your network provider) and are usually included in inclusive minute plans from landlines and mobiles.
