Frequently Asked Questions
Ask us a question
You asked: What is an interim death certificate and can you accept this?
You may get an interim death certificate if the death gets referred to a coroner and an inquest is opened.
We can accept them, though we'll usually need to ask the coroner to give us some more information before we can start to assess your claim. In some cases you'll need to wait until the inquest has been completed before we can start to assess your death claim.
