You asked: What is total permanent disability benefit?
This is a benefit that was previously included with our critical illness cover.
Total permanent disability benefit pays out one agreed sum of money if you suffer a 'total and permanent disability' due to illness or injury.
We have four different definitions of what qualifies as total permanent disability: own occupation, any occupation, activities of daily living and activities of daily working. Whether you qualify for a pay out will depend upon the nature of your disability and which definition applies to your policy.
Your policy booklet will confirm if you have this benefit, alternatively call us on 0800 015 1142 (between Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm).
