This is why we invite our home insurance customers to leave a review after buying a policy and making a claim. In addition to aiming to help you make better decisions about your insurance, we use these reviews to improve our products and services.

Customer reviews consist of an overall rating out of five and provide feedback on the experience of buying a policy and making a claim with us. Customers also have the option to provide a rating out of five on additional aspects of their experience. After buying a policy, customers are able rate us on value for money, ease of purchase, policy features and benefits and customer experience. After making a claim, customers are invited to rate us on ease of claim process, speed of resolution, fairness and customer experience.

Simple, straightforward and clear application procedure

Home buildings and contents insurance. Simple, straightforward and clear application procedure and quick and courteous customer care agents, when seeking clarification by 'phone. Good introductory discounts for new customers and if you have more than one Aviva product. However, as with any insurer, or insurance product, you will only really know how good they are/it is, if you are in the unfortunate position of having to make a claim. This said, I have to say that so far, I have been very happy with Aviva.

Sweet and simple

I purchased house & building insurance, not only was it a quick and simple process I also saved money verses the premium I paid last year with another company who I had used for many years. I also have car insurance with Aviva and have no issues with that policy either.

Easy to do online

Bought home insurance on line. Was given 3 different quotes based on the details I provided. Easy to use and amend. Good price. If next years renewal price is good then will use Aviva again.

Two things I don't like

Don't like: 1. Auto-renewal of policies without my permission, with no obvious option to cancel. 2. Abuse of the English language. "Here's a summary of what you've bought today. You can view and print your documents or make a claim anytime in MyAviva." "Anytime" is not an English word;(*) it should be written as two separate words. "Anytime" is as meaningless as "anycar" or "anyhouse." (*) Americans seem happy to use it. It would make sense as an adjective, but not here.

I'm sorry to learn that you don't agree with automatic renewals. These are applied to policies that are paid via direct debit or continuous card payment authority. Our customers can let us know they don't wish to renew by calling, using live chat or social media (such as Twitter and Facebook). We send renewal details 28 days before the renewal date to give our customers some time to have a think and shop around if they wish to. I've passed on your feedback to the communications team and made them aware of the issue regarding the misuse of the word "anytime". I hope my explanation has eased your concerns. quick easy online cover

Breakdown car cover. Cheaper price and same cover as going direct to service provider used by Aviva. Price was down to a discount as have other products from Aviva.

Illogical sequence.

I'd decided to renew my existing policy with you, and filled in your satisfaction questionairre. It was only then that you pointed out that you had an alternative product. Woudn't it have been better to point that out before asking me to renew thre old one?
