As part of your cover we’ll check your gas boiler and carbon monoxide detector each year to make sure they’re working, as they should be

Gas boiler replaced if we can’t fix it – if under 7 years old you only pay your chosen excess, if 7 years or over you’ll need to contribute £500 as well as your chosen excess

With these prices you'll pay the first £50 on every claim. You can also choose to pay £0 excess – get a quote to check the price for that option.

What's not covered

We can't cover any plumbing, electrical or security problems within the first 14 days of your cover - but we’ll provide you with a quote for repairs. Other things not covered include:

Heating exclusions

External gas supply pipe (responsibility of National Grid)

Any gas appliances, oil-fired heating systems or under-floor heating

Plumbing exclusions


Repairs to external guttering, rainwater downpipes and soakaways

Electrics & Security exclusions

Household appliances

Replacing locks or lost keys if you have access to another set

To take out our heating and boiler cover:

  • You must live in your own home (not a rented or sub-divided property) in the UK (excluding NI, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man)
  • Your home must be heated by natural gas and can’t be used for business purposes
  • Your property cannot be a flat, maisonette, mobile home or bedsit
  • Your boiler must also pass the health check we carry out to make sure it’s safe. If your boiler fails the health check, we’ll give you a full refund of any premiums you’ve paid
