great helpfulness

I got an annual renewal which seemed more than I expected and compared it to other policies available. I realized I had previously had world travel rather than European travel. I have also had a couple of medical changes since last year.So I rang up expecting to find it go down moving to European travel but up when taking in to account the medical. it went down but the medical conditions were accepted and we were within a couple of quid of the lowest bid I was prepared to accept. So we stayed with Aviva where we know we can trust the policy to pay out if we were ever to need it.

Problematic application and poor documentation

I was unable to add one of my medical conditions when applying online. I thought perhaps it was because it wasn't a condition of interest and so bought the policy anyway. After a while this worried me so I rang the number provided on the policy documents only to find the number was for car and home insurance only not holiday insurance. I then had to go online and find the correct number. Once I got through to customer services I discovered that the condition was one of interest but then there software crashed and they were unable to enter the information. They requested I ring back in a few days time. Instead I cancelled my policy and went bought my insurance elsewhere. I was also motivated to cancel the policy due to the poor documentation you are emailed. It may seem knit-picking but just a very simple thing of giving the PDF documents meaningful names like "Policy Summary Document" instead of "NDJFO4" makes life a lot easier.

easy to use website, no problems

decided to take advantage of Aviva cash back offer, I got a far better insurance cover than previous insurance ,and cheaper and got cash back, also if you do multiple insurances you still get cash back for each plus members discount, we have peace of mind that were covered by a good company
