Great customer service

Aviva Plus car policy Sadly was initially wrongly informed as to cancellation of policy after car written off. This caused a big problem when setting up new policy due to new car being exempt from cover by aviva plus. Although a complaint was raised, the agents performed a work-around thus, enabling new car to be covered by desired level of cover and complaint escalating.

Great Price and Cover but some odd restrictions when buying

I had this cover before but cancelled it (which turned out to be s mistake on my part). When I went to get a new quote as made an impromptu car purchase couldn't get a price as cover can't start for at least 5 days unlike the other policies. This was a bit off to me especially as I had been a customer only a week before. Had to arrange temporary cover for a few days so not great. Would have been nice to have a similar grace period for cancelling insurance as you do when you buy insurance so you can change your mind (put it on hold for a couple of weeks in then cancel) as I've lost NCB (my fault entirely) and had to make temporary arrangements. Otherwise it's great cover and an excellent price. Customer services team are very helpful as far as policy allows them to be. Customer experience score is due to Aviva policy not the people I spoke to at the call center. They did their very best.

Hello, On our classic policies, you can start the cover with immediate affect. Although, with AvivaPlus policies you have to allow a 5 day starting period. Horrific

Aviva failed to inform me my car insurance was up for renewal, they let me drive around for nearly 3 months with no insurance before I got a letter from the police. When I called them they blamed a ‘systems error’ and said they’d calls me back in 7 days but they didn’t, or if they did they didn’t even leave a voicemail. Still now they haven’t apologised, explained the issue or compensated for it. I wonder how many other people they have done this too.... awful.

I'm an ex company car driver and had several insurance companies declining even to quote, without even taking my name, or asking about my 'no claims' history. Those that did, gave no, no claims discount. Aviva were incredibly helpful, took their time over the phone, working through their different packages and I ended up with an amazing insurance package, much lower than competitors and very comprehensive too.

Interesting idea

Rolling monthly car insurance, interesting idea and not before time. I like the simplicity of the process but you can come unstuck if anything is outside of the standard parameters, you still have to phone in these cases but it wasn't too painful. Pricing I have found unpredictable, I have three policies and one was dramatically cheaper than anywhere else while the other two were competitive albeit not the cheapest. I have no claims experience factor in so won't give 5 stars (the sign up process is still a bit clunky so probably wouldn't have anyway), although a house claim I had with Aviva was relatively painless so I'd not expect too much grief.

Good value policy

I liked the plus insurance because it is paid monthly with no interest. You can add a home insurance to it. The salesman knew his product and could tell me all the differences between the plus and the classic. It was therefore a pity that they then took the money for both the classic policy (a years worth) and the plus policy as well. When I noticed it it was rectified but was not found by yourselves.
