How it works

Give us a call

To make a claim we’ll ask you for the name of the person who has died, the cause of their death, plus your details and your relationship to them.

If you’ve got the policy number it speeds things up, but don’t worry if you don’t have it to hand or can’t find it.

We'll get to work

One of our experts will look at the information you've given us and will let you know if we need anything else. In most cases we'll ask you to send us a death certificate and we may ask you to send us some medical or legal documents too, depending on the circumstances. We'll talk you through this so you know exactly what's needed.

Paying your claim

Once we’ve agreed to pay your claim, we’ll make the payment within 5 working days. If for any reason we’re not able to pay the claim, we will call and write to you to explain our decision.


Important information

For our joint protection, telephone calls may be recorded and/or monitored and will be saved for a minimum of five years. Calls to 0800 numbers from UK landlines and mobiles are free. The cost of calls to 03 prefixed numbers are charged at national call rates (charges may vary dependent on your network provider) and are usually included in inclusive minute plans from landlines and mobiles.
