Motor insurance - Breakdown option

Video transcript

We’ve all driven past motorists stranded on the roadside next to their broken down cars and felt thankful it’s not us standing there. Well, with Aviva’s optional breakdown cover you can rest assured that if it does happen to you you’ll be rescued quickly.

In the event of a breakdown in the UK we’ll aim to reach you within 60 minutes of your call, and priority attention is given to anyone in a vulnerable situation.

You can choose from four levels of course to ensure you get the right product for your needs.

Four out of five cars are repaired at the roadside, so you might be happy with rescue only cover. Providing you’ve broken down more than a quarter of a mile away from your home it provides roadside assistance to try and get you going again fast. If your car can’t be fixed there and then we’ll take you, your vehicle, and up to seven passengers to the nearest garage.

If you choose the Rescue and Recovery option, we’ll take you to your preferred destination in the UK if your car can’t be fixed. We’ll also recover you if the driver becomes medically unfit to drive and there are no passengers who can take over.

If you want cover for your car breaking down at home or within a quarter of a mile of it then you’ll need our third option: Rescue, Recovery and at Home.

Our fourth and most comprehensive cover level offers all that I’ve just talked about, plus either a replacement vehicle for 24 hours, overnight accommodation or alternative transport costs.

You can buy vehicle-based cover. Simply add it to the vehicles you want to cover on your motor policy, or, if you don’t currently insure your car with us or you prefer personal cover for private vehicles, we also offer a standalone breakdown policy.

And that’s it – insurance made a little easier.

With Aviva’s breakdown cover, you can rest assured that you’ll be attended to quickly if your car breaks down. Watch our helpful video to learn more about your cover options.
