Just because you’re 50, doesn’t mean you're 'old'. But it is a good idea to think about your health and fitness as you age, as it could help reduce the risk of illness. Has your weight crept up? Are you exercising less? Getting fitter is a good way to improve your overall health and wellbeing. But being realistic is very important – so ask yourself, are you ready to make a firm commitment to a new diet or exercise routine?

If you have health problems it's a good idea to consult your GP before you change your levels of exercise or alter your meal plans. A GP is in a good position to advise you on how to keep you fitter at 50. 

Decrease the negatives..

They say that moderation is the key to all things. But when it comes to smoking (which some people believe is a stress relief tool), or alcohol (which many people enjoy), how much is too much?

Increase the positives...

Your GP will offer a range of screening programmes. But it’s important to get to know your body well, so you’re in a good position to notice any changes as time goes on.
